Position Overview
The Field Surveyor position will be responsible for assisting grade crews and asphalt crews with daily survey and layout needs, setting up and maintaining equipment for asphalt and grade crews and for 3d grade control operations.
Key Responsibilities (Essential) Duties and Functions
- Perform jobsite visits gathering site data, collecting measurements, and jobsite surveying, layouts, and staking.
- Perform post construction as-builts, surveying assistance in troubleshooting, and field records.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Jobsite, plant, and aggregate surveys.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Strong willingness to learn new software and a drive to continuing education.
- Provide support for construction crews and field managers as requested.
Technical
- Proficient Computer Skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Locating and/or establishing vertical and horizontal survey control.
Qualifications
- No minimum education or work experience required.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- PLS License is preferred but not required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Experience with Trimble, Topcon, AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.
- Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
