An ADP Client, First Choice Surveying is actively seeking a Field Survey Crew Chief to join their team.
About First Choice Surveying:
Founded in 2006, First Choice Surveying offers an array of surveying services and have performed thousands of surveys throughout the State of Florida. First Choice Surveying currently services 41 counties in Florida and continue to add counties as they grow. By utilizing today's technology alongside expertly trained field crews and outstanding office staff, they can provide a 5-7-day turnaround on most projects upon receipt of an order.
About the Role:
First Choice Surveying is looking for an experience Survey Drafter to join their team. This role will report to the Survey Department Manager and is a remote/work from home position and will require a quiet workspace along with high speed internet.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ideal Candidate:
• 2+ years' experience drafting land surveys
• High school diploma/GED diploma required; Associate's or bachelor's degree a plus;
• Proficient in using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Software
• Strong planning, organization, preparation, problem solving/analytical skills and execution capabilities
• Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Knowledge of land surveying techniques, principals and standards

- Verify accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted on survey projects.
- Review and process results of field survey data including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and boundaries.
- Search public records to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
- Produce CAD drawings based on survey data provided
- Assist in providing calculations for field staking and support of field crews if needed.
- Ability to check your own work before drawing is submitted to project manager for review to minimize markups
- Ability to learn from markups to increase future productivity
