Summary: Core Land Consulting is a small but growing professional land surveying company located in Southeast Michigan. We are looking to add a full time dedicated and ambitious person to assist in our growth objectives. Core Land Consulting performs all types of surveying projects with a focus on construction staking and ALTA surveys. Prior field experience in these areas is required. Previous experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Job Requirements:
- Strong work ethic, dependable and motivated.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong organization/time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Will work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys.
- Collect survey data as required in accordance with industry and client specifications, scopes of work, and work plans.
- Perform mathematical calculations and field checking/staking.
- Must be able perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
- Supervise and assist other members of the Survey Crew.
- Daily coordination with office staff.
- Willing and able to continually learn new techniques and processes.
Position Qualifications:
- A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in surveying, preferably in boundary retracement and construction staking.
- Proficient with Trimble Access software for Trimble TSC7, S7 and R6 equipment is preferred.
- Ability to write legibly and convey technical information as well as the ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from co-workers and clients.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and written are essential.
- Candidate must possess a valid drivers' license with insurable driving record.
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in the role of Crew Chief.
- Experience in construction staking.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work overtime as needed;
- The ability to work outside; stand; walk; lift and carry equipment; operate equipment in all types of weather and terrain, is a requirement.
- Ability to work as a one-person crew utilizing robotic and GPS equipment
