Sanders Brothers Construction Co. is presently seeking a new member to join their surveying team. We currently have an opportunity as a Survey Crew Chief supporting the company's surveying function. Sanders Brothers have provided construction related services to the Low Country since the early 1960's and the surveying team is critical to its continued success.

Role and Responsibilities

• Make exact measurements and determine property boundaries.
• Provide data relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's surface for construction purposes.
• Accurately operate, adjust and maintain survey measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices and total stations with electronic data collection capabilities for field to finish operations.
• Download field data collector into an AutoCAD drawing file and provide review and edits of codes and line work.
• Perform mathematic and geometric calculations including closing and adjusting level loops and field traverses and has an understanding of atmospheric impacts on measurements.
• Takes accurate and clear notes and note reduction by recording survey measurements, description data, drawings and sketches.
• Read and understands plans and specifications.
• Communicate with site superintendents and foremen regarding site plans, schedules and requirements.
• Use of the proper tools and equipment to perform the job effectively.
• Daily administration duties including, but not limited to, downloading field notes and daily reports.
• Keep company vehicle, tools and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements
• Provide guidance and supervision to Survey Rodman and Laborers
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of surveying experience preferred. 
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.

Preferred qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor Licensure. 

Candidates are encouraged to provide a 3-year MVR at the time of application. All candidates must pass background prescreen and pre-employment drug test.
