Surgical Technician, Birthing Center, PRN

Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and staff nursing, provide operating room cares for patients receiving cesarean sections and assist with vaginal births. Assists in identifying patient needs based on age specific data. Selects appropriate instruments and supplies and sets up tables as required for specific operations. Prepares and maintains the sterile field for all surgical procedures. Prepares and passes instruments, sponges, and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintains a correct count. Functions as a member of the sterile team. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position is generally scheduled overnights, either 7pm-7am or 11pm-7am 

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Surgical Technician certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology, or equivalent experience and education
• ​Ability to successfully complete Basic Life Support Certification
• ​Consistently works as a team a member and communicates effectively
