Position Description: Surgical Technologist
- The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
Requirements:
- Preferred CST (Surgical Tech) from NBSTSA or NCCT
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 1-year Surgical Technologist OR 5 years if completed hospital or military based training
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR a military OR hospital-based training in Surgical Technology
Specific Skills:
- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up
