Job Summary: Full time onsite opportunity at our Great Neck and Smithtown offices. The Mohs Surgical Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all MOHs needs and responsible for training of new MOHs technicians and medical assistants, setting up new MOHs labs, and coordinating the schedule of all MOHs histotechnicians within SDG.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Help with pathology department head on passing CLIA certification when applicable
  • Work with General Managers to coordinate coverage and schedules of associated MOHs technicians so that all cases have proper coverage including call outs, vacations, sickness, etc. across MOHs surgeons
  • Discuss results on MOHs cases with patients when needed
  • Develop pre-care and post-care standards for the patient and distribute and teach to all MOHs office medical assistants as well as members of the Patient Support Center team to answer patient questions.
  • Build Phone triage system and develop pre-op questionnaires to put in EMR on every Mohs patients prior to procedure; identify and report any pre-op concerns and teach MOHs offices how to handle
  • Keep instructions for all pre and post op care instructions including prescription management up to date
  • Teach offices to request medical clearance prior to surgery when necessary
  • Last line after office to relay important information to Mohs surgeon or support staff when appropriate
  • Relay important information to referring MD when appropriate
  • Confirm Generation all Mohs operative reports and send to referring providers
  • Identify the point of contact for all Mohs patients with Mohs related questions including managing the Mohs Surgeons KLARA Task Queues per MOHs office
  • Contribute to exceptional customer service as evidenced by patient NPS scores of 80 or greater in all offices
  • Schedule management of all MOHs technicians
  • Avoid scheduling errors through proactive review of Mohs schedules and patient records and teaching PSC to look for possible scheduling issues. Spend time at SDG Corporate office with PSC team and trainers to help build out Q&A for MOHs patients

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scheduling surgeries including Mohs and excisions
  • Knowledge of pathology results and experience in discussing with patients
  • Knowledge of insurance and eligibility as well as prior authorizations

Hourly Pay Range
$19—$22 USD
