POSITION OVERVIEW:
The front desk receptionist greets all patients and their families at the front desk providing the first impression of the facility. Responsible for registering patients for surgery and admission, answering incoming calls to the Surgery Center, back up for insurance authorization. Is also responsible for collection of co-pays at the front desk and accounts receivable billing, the daily schedule and surgical journaling. Gives direction to: Patients families and physicians. Works cooperatively with: Providers, Healthcare Professionals, Allied Health Staff patients, families and visitors. Receives direction from: Supervisor/Manager.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Customer Service and the use of multiline phone answering. Must have some knowledge of insurance requirements and medical terminology. Needs to be able to multitask, problem solve and provide outstanding customer service. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Word and Excel. Typing skills required.
