Surface Ship Combat Portfolio Lead -Advanced Systems Engineer

Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Surface Ship CombatSystems Engineer, serving as a Portfolio Lead for the Combat team. In this role you will work as part of an integrated Surface Ship Team, supporting cross disciplinary teams on various platforms primarily the Littoral Combat Ship Program. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems.
You will be working on Navy Ships including the Independence Variant of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF), and potential new Navy Platforms. The core mission system of the Littoral Combat Ship Independence Variant is built on General Dynamics' computing infrastructure. Our computing technology controls everything from ship navigation to firing weapons, and is designed to maximize automation, enabling sailors to focus on their missions. You will be involved with the end-to-end design, production, delivery, and sustainment of the ships and work closely with the customer and sailors as the end user of the product to ensure mission alignment and product quality.
Expierence with Combat team, organizing and directing several big and small projects is important. This postition will report directly to the CSEA DPME, but may be involved in other tasking and overall team, schedule, and quality management.

Skills Required:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Matlab analytical tools
• Strong working relationships and written/verbal communications skills
• Support Design Investigations and Efforts related to the Integrated Combat Management Systems and its associated Weapons and Sensors.
• Participate in requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system elements direct supervision
• Develop professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses
• Travel may be required

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range
USD $107,520.00 - USD $119,280.00 /Yr.
