Job Title:Supervisor, Management & Field Trng


Troubleshoot issues, identify skills gaps that need correction through training, mentor employees as needed, provide requisite and innovative training, and coach transportation agreement and Non-agreement staff. Identify and resolve specific end user issues and needs.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist managers with the HASTUS Payroll System parallel. Perform audit and analysis throughout the HASTUS parallel and pre/post GO LIVE environments.
  • Assist managers in future HASTUS Payroll System training sessions. Handle all pre and post GO LIVE on-site support.
  • Conduct HASTUS Payroll System onboarding for all support department personnel such as Claims, Payroll, Safety, Service Supervision, Operational Training, etc.
  • Performs classroom and field instruction to enhance employee performance. Teaches all field salary and transportation management training courses as required.
  • Plans, researches, develops, and revises Management & Field training programs and courses.
  • Coordinates, participates, and monitors transportation vendor training projects, including the HASTUS payroll system. Ensures that all internal training material is up to date, so that training is presented timely and thoroughly.
  • Communicates with garage management, and current/previous students to aid in solving transportation problems, validate transportation training objectives, and counsel students post training ensuring position success.
  • Conduct audits, ADA Tracker, Samsara compliance, Safety Collisions BI dashboard, and other audits as needed.
  • Assists with development of self-paced online training and other training materials, as needed.
  • Represents NJ TRANSIT Bus Operations in internal consultations, grievance processes, or in arbitrations as an expert witness.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Vocational Education or a related area from a US Department of Education accredited college or university, and a minimum of five (5) years of Bus Operations experience. Experience in the design, development and presentation of training programs preferred. One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required. Experience working with a learning management system is highly desired. Must be able to prepare lesson plans, Power Point presentations and training materials, teach in both classroom and field environments using proper teaching techniques, and operate all technical equipment unassisted.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Prior training experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience with an e-learning system
  • Required familiarity with contractual language.
  • Must be familiar with depot operations.

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods. Travel is required to train in remote / alternate locations.Work times may fluctuate depending upon project demands.
