The general hourly range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal protection organization, is seeking a Support Technician III, Service Desk for the Technology & Information Solutions department. In this position you will provide third-tier support and technical assistance to end users for computer, application, system, device, access and hardware issues. Responds to the more complex support requests received via Service Desk portal, email, telephone, or in-person, with minimal direction or supervision.
You will be responsible for:
- Installing, testing, and servicing a variety of computer software, hardware, data network, and telecommunications devices, as well as other peripheral equipment related to information technology;
- Receiving, investigating, resolving, and tracking Service Desk tickets in a timely manner;
- Maintaining a high customer satisfaction rating on issue resolution;
- Installing and maintaining end user computers and peripheral devices;
- Hands on support in support of infrastructure engineering;
- Utilizing highest level of technical skills to research new technology, techniques, threats and industry best practices to optimize efficiency and usability, minimizing vulnerabilities;
- Coordinating with vendors as necessary to resolve issues with IT systems, software, or hardware;
- Maintaining accurate records for hardware deployment and assisting with inventory tracking;
- Creating documentation/user guides to provide consistency for end user support;
- Assisting with engineering and implementation of IT projects;
- Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or another related field preferred;
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience with helpdesk support and end user troubleshooting required;
- Prior Experience with desktop software deployment and maintaining workstations and LAN environments preferred;
- Strong knowledge of installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary;
- Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
