MU Health Care is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor t o assist management in the supervision of the operational and personnel activities of the Housekeeping Department.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Assist management to ensure that all new employees meet and maintain the departmental criteria and are aligned with the University of Missouri Health Care Mission and Goals.
  • Assist with periodic inventory of housekeeping department's equipment and products.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding housekeeping services and participate in complaint resolution. Conduct quality control inspections and provide a written report on a daily basis. Assist management I monitoring the departments Guest Relations Program.
  • Monitor staff's workload and productivity in order to meet the workload and productivity standards. Assist management in monitoring department operations and objectives to ensure the quality of services meets with the standards of the University of Missouri Health Care Mission and Goals.
  • Plan, assign, and review the work of the support staff. Demonstrate to staff appropriate methods and procedures to complete work assignments. Review staff's work in progress for adherence to appropriate methods, procedures, and completion of work in a timely manner. Prepare written reports and collect data for department manager as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
  • Two years of experience in a Services industry (Retail Operation, Food Service, Hospitality, Customer Service, Housekeeping, etc ) is required .
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • All duties and standards within this document will be performed in compliance with regulatory guidelines and applicable federal/state laws according to University policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs.
This role may also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
