Supply Chain Specialist

The Kanak family of businesses, locally owned and operated manufacturers and distributors of high-quality products for multiple industries, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring goods and services essential to our operations, ensuring an effective and optimized Supply Chain, with a focus on international sourcing and negotiations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources necessary for an efficient Supply Chain.
• Obtain purchasing specifications based on functional requirements for programs.
• Conduct research to identify vendors capable of supplying required parts, with a specific emphasis on international sourcing.
• Evaluate product or service information and recommend purchases based on fit, capacity, price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies, including those based internationally.
• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests for both domestic and international transactions.
• Manage agent/vendor relationships, contracts, and performance, with a focus on global partnerships.
• Maintain procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, or performance, and inventories.
• Expedite delivery of goods to users, considering the complexities of international logistics.
• Monitor inventory position against sales forecast and customer orders to optimize production, taking into account global market trends.
• Analyze current inventories and procedures, suggesting improvements to increase efficiency and profitability in the international Supply Chain.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant discipline.
• Three years’ minimum experience purchasing goods and/or services for a manufacturing organization, including international sourcing and negotiations.
• Proficient user of MS Office products and strong online search capabilities.
• Good negotiation skills, particularly in the context of international business transactions.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, as required.
