The Supply Chain Planning Engineer is responsible for facility performance levels to corporate targets for Supply Chain stability to ensure AOS, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results.  Leads facility efforts to develop and implement the Plan for Every Part, Pull material Replenishment and improved throughput efficiency.  The incumbent is responsible to achieve Supply Chain performance targets, including improvements in Order-to-Delivery time and inventory levels / turns.

Job Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for performing work to achieve Supply Chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results. 
  • The incumbent is a key team member working on the deployment of the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops the Plan for Every Part and Pull Replenishment methods for a facility.  Incumbent is required to work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the Supply Chain Planning process and lead team efforts to develop lean material flow plans for a facility, which may include implementing changes to factory floor layout and material presentation at the point of use.
  • Incumbent gathers and analyzes data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production based on daily demand buckets.  This role gathers and analyzes data about supplier shipping performance, supplier lead times and variability % for each part number (both Time and Qty) This position develops material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production.  Incumbent reviews, analyzes and cleans data prior to PFEP finalization.
  • The incumbent is responsible for creating an optimized plan for material for the factory and maintaining a site level Flow Map for parts used in production.  This position enables / coaches facility employees to utilize PFEP templates to load and maintain data and provides reports and information to facility resources requiring PFEP information.  This work involves using material replenishment analytical tools, establishing and sizing material supermarkets, working with pull trigger systems, enhancing communications throughout a material flow path, and working with material handlers and other factory personnel to drive common replenishment processes in a plant.  The incumbent must be able to work among production employees with little to no disruption to their workload.
  • Incumbent is required to work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the Supply Chain Planning process and lead team efforts to develop lean material flow plans for a facility, which may include implementing changes to factory floor layout and material presentation at the point of use.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 6 years of progressively responsible Supply Chain job experience
  • Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes
  • Experience and knowledge about CPS Supply Chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment using material replenishment tools and processes, Supply Chain Planning analytical tools, material flow and throughput efficiency
  • Strong understanding of common Supply Chain systems.
  • Must be able to design and deploy lean systems in a highly productive environment with minimal disruption to daily requirements
  • Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common Supply Chain processes across multiple departments within a business division.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex problems.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics is a plus
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools.
  • Experience and knowledge about CPS Supply Chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment using material replenishment tools and processes, Supply Chain Planning analytical tools, material flow and throughput efficiency
  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Engineer is a plus
