Role Summary
The Supply Chain / Purchasing Intern will develop and support the procurement of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization by procurement of various goods and services to serve the needs and requirements of the internal customers by achieving the best cost-performance ratio for the organization. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Management Department Leader and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:
Key Responsibilities
Support buyers in negotiations and order processing.
Data analytics in excel for buyer projects.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers.
Support team with meeting coordination with suppliers.
Support team in order tracking and escalations.
Support team with data cleanup for process optimization initiatives and audit preparation
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Able to work on site at least 20 hours per week.
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5; GPA's of 3.0 or above strongly preferred.
Prefer students to have foundational courses in Supply Chain, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Data Analytics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Basic understanding of negotiation principles.
Value/cost analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
Knowledge of SAP ERP preferred but not required.
Comprehensive analytical abilities applicable to diverse issues.
Capable of managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
Anticipate, understand and respond to customer needs.
