Supply Chain Buyer

Role description:

The Segment Buyer role for Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP-NA) is a key position within the procurement department responsible for purchasing activities within a designated segment of AGP-NA's glass plants. This role will also lead fast-paced and dynamic indirect spend categories such as MRO (industrial supplies, fasteners, motors, pumps, belts, chains, electrical supplies, lubricants, coatings, etc.) and service-related subcategories for North America.

Responsibilities:

• Hold accountability for local, facility services, and MRO spending with a strategic focus on MRO
• Lead and support plant storeroom buyers with monthly KPIs
• Identify and develop opportunities and synergies within the segment for local spending by extracting and analyzing data to access trends and gaps
• Develop sourcing strategies that improve cost, lead times, working capital, payment terms, and transparency of spend
• Support global procurement and the Category Management Team in implementing sourcing strategies at the plant level to achieve the group's objectives and the plants' supply needs
• Negotiate spot purchases and agreements to achieve cost savings and avoidance
• Carry out and educate internal/external customers on AGP-NA procurement policies, procedures, operating systems, and the procure-to-pay (P2P) process
• Resolves issues relating to supply shortages, quality concerns, budget impacts, and invoice reconciliation proactively
• Develop and maintain relationships with key plant operations personnel and any other relevant stakeholders both internal and external

Minimum skills / qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five (5) years of experience in operations, Supply Chain, and procurement
• Knowledge of plant purchasing and all levels of the P2P process
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Broad knowledge of indirect procurement categories and commodities and capital expenditures
• Interpersonal skills to work within a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to travel 25%

Preferred skills / qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a business-related field
• Proficient in SAP and COUPA
• Proficient in creating dashboards and formatting data in PowerBI
• Ability to create P2P process maps, procedures, and best practices
• Established a sourcing strategy for an MRO category

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Experience:

• indirect procurement: 5 years (Required)
• manufacturing or packaging: 1 year (Preferred)
