Summary
This position is responsible for transporting and delivering equipment, specimens, reports, and supplies, to and from CTRH hospital and offsite department locations. Position performs routine maintenance of delivery vehicle. Under general supervision, performs supply fucntions including receiving, inventory control, inventory stocking/order fulfillment, supply issues/credits and parring for all assigned inventory locations. May provide clerical/technical support for Purchasing.
Responsibilities
•• Conducts and replenishes daily par for departments at approved par levels on the dates and times assigned. Rotates items as necessary. Recomends stock item additions/deletions/changes to par locations. • Handles calls, faxes, correspondency and other documents. • Utilizes existing Supply Chain Program to receive equipment, furniture and supplies against purchase orders and non purchase orders. • Utilizes established process, incuding software programs, to document and ship correspondence, supplies, equipment and laboratory specimens to designated locations provided by requestors. • Breaks down and stocks palletized inventory shipments according to delivery schedules. Includes putting replenishment orders away. • Utilizes existing Supply Chain Management Program to issue and pull stock/replenishment requests and delivers to appropriate location. Delivers non-stock and special orders to appropriate departments. • Posts inventory order receipts to update inventory counts. • Performs cycle count verification and assists with annual/semi-annual inventory. • Informs management or purchasing staff of stock out situations or delivery problems. • Obtains signatures on all deliveries when required. • Notifies purchasing staff regarding cargo which cannot be received or identified properly. • Transports any speciments in appropriate temperature controlled containers. • Maintains appropriate logs and documents for accurate record keeping. • Ensures assigned vehicle is clean/refueled and that maintenance is current; informs management of any deficiencies. • Maintains any supplies necessary for vehicles and/or delivery of reports as needed. • Performs mailroom duties as assigned including: sorting incoming interoffice and post office mail; posting and bundling outgoing mail in accordance with USPS standard; maintaining and purchasing supplies for the postage machine; maintaining and updating information for department and doctor boxes; and performing basic housekeeping duties for the mailroom. • Provide backup to all Courier as needed. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• • Required o Minimum one (1) year experience in distribution or warehouse environment, hospital central supply or patient care. o Able to operate power and manual pallet trucks, dollies, and flat carts. o Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures to expedite deliveries o Ability to operate 12.5 ton delivery truck with power gate lift and a delivery van. o Ability to read, write and speak English to successfully accomplish essential duties o Ability to operate, multi-line telephone, printer, scanner, inventory handheld devices, fax machine, postage machine and copier units. Basic computer skills for accessing and using internet resources where required. • Preferred o Minimum one (1) year experience with transportation responsibilities. o Current unrestricted driver’s license
