You will serve as a Supervisory Safety and Occupational Health Specialist of NAVSTA.Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, and regulations are applicable to the performance of a full range of safety management responsibilities on a military installation; Planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluation of a safety program; developing local standards, guidelines, standard operating procedures and instructions to eliminate or control safety hazards relative to the assigned organizations. Directing hazards and complex work operations and/or conditions found in maintenance shops, maritime work, military training and other activities typical of naval bases which enable the incumbent to analyze mishap data; discovering factors to prevent or reduce the possibility of mishaps; Providing construction standards, practices and techniques, materials, equipment and/or utilities systems sufficient to determine compliance with building safety standards; Developing effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities.
