Work Shift:

Day (United States of America) Directly supervises Transport department at Beverly Hospital to ensure adequate productivity and accurate transportation of patients, specimens and various equipment. Main responsibilities include scheduling, hiring, payroll, performance reviews, training and development, safety and managing flow throughout. Leads team of approximately 15 staff members. Reports to the manager of Transport.

Job Description:

Works closely with the Director of Support Services and Manager of Maintenance and Trades to coordinate all activities related to maintaining the smooth flow of assignments and equitable distribution of responsibilities for Central Services by fielding inquiries for services. Maintains necessary records, and files related to assignments and service requests using computerized information systems. The position reports to the Director of Support Services primarily and matrix reporting to the Manager of Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Supervisor promotes a free-flow of information and communication throughout the department. Provides the information people need to know to do their jobs. The Supervisor expresses self clearly, succinctly and with impact, both verbally and in writing with individuals.

The Supervisor understands the relationship between own work and organizational success. The Supervisor understands and interprets organizational financial data and has the ability to make positive decisions based on operational information/data available.

The Supervisor focuses the efforts of the department on continually anticipating, discovering, meeting and exceeding internal and external customer needs. Readily adjusts priorities to respond to pressing and changing customer demands. Establishes clear directions to staff and sets stretching objectives. Recognizes and distributes workload according to competency. Organizes work in a well-planned manner. The Supervisor staffs the department by identifying and hiring candidates with the competencies, skills and knowledge needed in the workforce. Ensures retention of high-caliber staff by ensuring the CREATE model is in place and practiced.

The Supervisor personifies high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, fairness and compassion and instills mutual trust and confidence through personal example. Models and reinforces the organization’s keys values in the pursuit of organizational CREATE philosophy.

Effectively and efficiently utilizes human, capital and intellectual resources to achieve strategic goals. Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet deadlines and enhance operational and personal productivity. The Supervisor can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.

Has the operational, functional and knowledge to achieve performance and business standards at a high level. The Supervisor is recognized as an expert in his/her field and shares knowledge and skills in order to improve the effectiveness of the organization.

Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write and speak English Must have basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft word doc, excel spreadsheets, power point, and windows based programs as assigned. High School education required College Education preferred. Good writing, verbal skills and interpersonal skills Ability to be a leader. Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Well-developed telephone skills Has good working knowledge of system logistics and reporting. Must have organizational skills in recordkeeping and filing functions. Must be able to quickly assess situations and make sound decisions.

Education/Experience:

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, business, healthcare administration, Humanities, or management engineering. A minimum of 3 years in administrative support functions.
