Job Description
Supervises the Area Coordinators and Engineer and directs the Transmission Line Maintenance Program for GTC. Conducts performance reviews and develops individual goals for Area Coordinators and Engineer and assists them in meeting those goals. Makes recommendations for compensation adjustments for Area Coordinators and Engineer. Develops annual department budget and completes monthly margin projections. Leads the growth, development, and integrity of the Transmission Line Operations and Maintenance Programs. Manages assignments in terms of general objectives and limits. Supports teams' goals and objectives with the day-to-day direction of staff by coordinating work activities and the review of technical work products and work plans as may be required. Acts as a liaison with individuals and departments within and external to the Corporation with the responsibility of acting independently on matters pertaining to Transmission Line operations and maintenance. Ensures staff and contractor compliance with established Transmission Line operations and maintenance policies, guidelines, and procedures. Promote an environment of continuous improvement to meet corporate goals and objectives
Education: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology. Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology is preferred.
Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively increasing experience in Transmission Line construction, design, operations, or maintenance with at least five (5) years of experience with an electric utility.
Equivalent Experience: Fourteen (14) years of direct experience in Transmission Line construction, design, operations, or maintenance with at least eight (8) years of progressively increasing experience in Transmission Line Maintenance with an electric utility.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Required: Valid GA Drivers License
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation, conflict resolution, contract administration, and negotiation skills. Also, must have good computer skills and should have a working knowledge of Maximo, AutoCAD, and PSL-CAD software applications. The ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, apply appropriate safety work methods and operating procedures, and manage multiple tasks and assignments is critical to the success of this position.
Must be able to pass the NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
