Has oversight responsibilities for all aspects of Shipping and Receiving. Receives and Ships supplies, equipment, and services via warehouse tools and inspects goods prior to distribution. Procures supplies, equipment, and services at the most favorable price while maintaining consistent quality, quantity, and efficiency. Meets with others, internal and external, for Shipping and Receiving activities. Resolves problems during the Warehouse Distribution process. Responsible for department activities.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervises Receiving Personnel and provides support to the Supervisor of the Storeroom as needed.
• Documents and administers disciplinary action when needed.
• Gives annual reviews to employees as designated by department organizational flowchart.
• Assures that all equipment used by the department is in safe, working condition.
• Trains new personnel entering the department.
• Enforces work safety practices with bale, stocking and movement of supplies
• Responsible for accurate distribution to departments physically and via computerized inventory system.
• Assures that storeroom and loading dock are neat and orderly.
• Provides updates to delivery drivers on SMC Protocols
• Ensures that staff follow all guidelines related to Shipping and Receiving
• Direct recycling operations, bales of cardboard, packing materials to recycling areas
• Direct Medical Gas deliveries in coordination with Respiratory for the safe storage, access, and handling
• Coordinates various deliveries and pick up of materials outside of the hospital setting
• Updates Tissue Tracking Logs as directed and monitors for compliance issues
• Responsible for ensuring the safe and proper operation of all equipment used by the Loading dock including maintenance e.g., Lift Gates, Garage Doors, Power Skid Jacks, and Hand Trucks
• Responsible for complying with Tissue tracking initiatives in accordance with SMC policies and TJC regulations.
• Responsible for quality checks and expedited deliveries of frozen and refrigerated products
• Responsible for the security of the Loading Docks and ensuring that all access is maintained and locked.
• Responsible for ensuring delivery drivers follow Hospital Policies, DOH Guidelines, Environmental Guidelines, and NJ DOT Transportation Guidelines.
Qualifications
• 10 years hospital Shipping and Receiving experience
• MMIS experience
• Microsoft applications experience
• Oracle Supply Chain Management inventory and purchasing
