We are seeking a Supervisor of Production and Process Engineering based at our Anderson, SC manufacturing facility to partner with leadership and lead a talented team of manufacturing professionals.

 

 

Job Summary

 

The Production and Process Engineering Supervisor partners with individuals across the business to lead and support our continuous improvement efforts within the blown film extrusion department. This role will be hands-on and instrumental in driving process optimization, quality enhancements, and operational efficiency. Use of Six Sigma methodologies and data analysis will be pivotal in shaping the future of our extrusion processes. As a Supervisor, your support will be critical in the coaching and development of problem solvers.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Process Documentation and Standardization: Establish and maintain standardized processes, ensuring meticulous documentation of process parameters, experiments, and improvements. Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions within the department.
  • Lead team of 10 or more associates with continuing technical skills transfer.
  • Strategic Process Optimization: Implement strategic initiatives to optimize blown film extrusion processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis techniques and statistical methods (when needed) to extract actionable insights, identify improvement opportunities, and drive data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Problem Solving Leadership: Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects with a hands-on approach, mentor teammates, and champion a culture of continuous improvement within the Extrusion Department.
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Provide guidance to the quality assurance team, offering insights into root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and continuous quality improvement efforts in extrusion.
  • Safety and Compliance: Support safety compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Education, Experience and Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prefer Chemical, Polymer, or Mechanical Engineering background or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years or more experience in process improvement. .
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with others to lead peers
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats
  • Demonstrated experience leading change.
  • Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
  • Perform verification of production output according to specifications
  • Guide and coach employees monitoring their productivity
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs., stand on feet all day, and communicate well in a noisy environment.
