Job Summary

The Supervisor, Peer Review is responsible for oversight of processes related to clinical Peer Review functions. This role provides leadership, training, mentoring, provides identification of desired outcomes and develops plans for achieving identified outcomes. Responsible for day to day operations of the department to ensure quality and compliance of all policies, procedures and regulatory agencies. Oversees the development, implementation and follow up of enterprise standardization. Assists in implementing changes and processes to facilitate efficient quality nursing functions with privileging, which include granting of privileges, FPPE, OPPE, privileging guidelines and Peer Review. Performs quality audit reviews, facilitates workload volume distribution and helps in daily operations to ensure desired outcomes for efficacy and efficiency.

Maintains both clinical expertise in clinical knowledge and the ability to lead. Utilizes change management and process improvement best practices when implementing changes. Models excellent customer service skills and take initiative to meet the needs of all to ensure customer focus and a positive experience. Communicates and collaborates effectively and with a high level of diplomacy with providers, leadership, and other healthcare teams. Obtains strong and effective communication skills to negotiate, think critically, resolve conflict, and delegate work assignments. Must be able to work on multiple daily tasks with efficiency and high-quality accuracy while handling multiple internal and external customer communications. Responsible for planning work to meet regulatory and customer defined deadlines, which requires coordination to minimize redundancy of work when multiple organizations share common providers. Obtains familiarity and/or ability and willingness to learn Joint Commission and NCQA regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).

Minimum of five years clinical experience and two years of experience in health care, credentialing/privileging, and/or leadership required.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
