Department Overview
PG&E's Business Energy Solutions (BES) organization is responsible for managing PG&E's relationships with its large, medium and small business customers. The organization is charged with delivering PG&E's programs and services, achieving electric vehicle, revenue generation & energy efficiency savings' goals, and resolving complex gas and electric service issues. BES is the internal advocate for customers and communities and drives continuous improvement that enhances customer satisfaction through exceptional customer experiences. The organization plays a significant role in the business customer experience with the entire suite of PG&E products, programs, and services - driving growth, energy efficiency penetration, and industry leadership. The mission is to establish PG&E as a key stakeholder in the corporations' life cycles of New Revenue Development (NRD) and demand-side management (IDSM) opportunities: planning and program design, implementation, channel strategy and customer support.
Position Summary
The Agriculture & Food Processing Industry is vital to the local communities we serve and are a strategic, highly valued customer segment. These customers benefit from our purposeful support, advocacy, and attention. PG&E strives to engage our Agriculture & Food Processing customers to become the trusted advisor to maximize their businesses and help them navigate through the ever-changing energy climate in California. This position will manage a team of account managers that directly support and manage customer portfolios comprised of Agriculture and Food Processing customers. In addition to the team management the supervisor will support the Manager of the AG & Food Processing team in creating, facilitating and executing goals, strategic plans, driving industry relationships and creating internal partnerships.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs with frequent travel required.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
Bay Area Minimum: $122,000
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000
OR
California Minimum: $116,000
California Maximum: $184,000
Job Responsibilities

  • Continuously drive safety performance using training, tools, initiatives, and other resources provided to improve safety.
  • Manages budgets, expenses, and resources to ensure that services are provided at the lowest possible cost consistent with client expectations and safety considerations.
  • Translate Company and Business Energy Solutions strategy and goals into actions and initiatives considering the unique needs of the customers within the AG & Food Processing sector.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction, service (ex. CSS) and sales (ex. Energy Efficiency & Demand Response) performance and takes actions to maximize and improve results.
  • Organizes and hosts operating reviews within the LEAN Model (Daily, Weekly & Monthly). Operating reviews will focus on; customer satisfaction results, task work, service (ex. CSS) and sales (ex. Energy Efficiency & Demand Response) performance with a goal to improve results.
  • Is s key contributor and PG&E co-point of contact for senior business leaders within the Enterprise.
  • Identifies/addresses and elevates issues requiring senior review and action.
  • Drives best practice sharing, teamwork and employee coaching across the entire team.
  • Fulfills Customer Strategy Officer role and responsibilities as identified.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, to include overnight travel
  • Is relentless on delivering a superior external customer experience aligned with brand, for the Small Business customer.
  • Ensures proactive outreach and education on customer impacting initiatives.
  • Exercises significant influence on the development and review of company initiatives that are expected to have impact on the customer experience for the agriculture sector and broader Business Energy Solutions Team.
  • Leads & inspires CRMs to embrace & thrive in the role of The AG & Food Processing relationship manager to customers.
  • In conjunction with BES Leadership & other key internal LOB's plays a key leadership role in developing customer strategies and team training for the assigned sector with customers, industry organizations, driving a consistent, successful internal/external customer experience.
  • Creates and executes tactical plans in support of individual CRM, team, department, and system metrics.
  • Demonstrates team leadership by building high level customer contacts, fostering strategic partnership opportunities, participating in industry events, and executing on vision to become customer's trusted industry partner within the AG & Food Processing sectors.
  • Develops new and innovative solutions, sales campaigns, and best practices to exceed complex needs and grow value for customers within the Ag & Food Processing sector.
  • Owns & monitors team pipeline health; able to take action to address short- & long-term gaps.
  • Monitors & engages Energy Insight for team time & task management expectations and actions.
  • Develops new and innovative solutions and best practices to meet or exceed complex needs of customers within the sector. Partners with Customer Success and Local teams on execution of segment strategies.
  • Recruit/select, communicate expectations, foster employee engagement, coach, develop, mentor, recognize and reward employees in order to drive performance and results. Manages Professional and Support employees.
  • Trains, mentors, develop and rewards team.
  • Consistently recognizes good performance and identifies and corrects unacceptable performance as necessary.
  • Lead and support employee engagement efforts to increase employee performance and satisfaction.

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a business, sciences, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of relevant experience to include any combination of customer relationship, operations, sales management, channel management, account management, strategic planning and execution.
  • Valid CA Driver's License or ability to obtain by 1st day of hire.

  • 1+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in a virtual/matrixed organization
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding quote targets for a given team, segment or customer group

  • Proven experience managing client relationships and managing personal sales strategies
