What you will do in your role:
As the Group Home Supervisor, you will work closely with the clinical and direct care teams to ensure treatment plans and permanency goals are carried out properly and effectively. The Supervisor will provide overall leadership and guidance to the staff and children within the program. The individual in this role will also work closely with Monroe County DHS, Community Stakeholders, and administrative departments within the Children's Home.
- Work collaboratively with staff within the interdisciplinary team as well as colleagues in other departments to assure the development and implementation of treatment plans to meet the individual needs of the children in care and their families.
- Develop, maintain and teach therapeutic relationships skills to staff, with the children and their families that are responsive to their needs and are in accordance with the established treatment plan.
- Provide for the safety and well being of the children and staff in the program through the judicious use of discipline, therapeutic crisis intervention, knowledge and supervision of their whereabouts.
- Monitor and teach dispensing medication without error to children as ordered by the medical department.
- Ensure continuity of personnel fully competent in achieving objectives through effective selection, development, training, evaluation and motivation of supervisees
- Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner meeting all standards of content and professional presentation.
**Perform any and all miscellaneous job duties as may be required from time to time**
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Social Work or related field strongly preferred.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Social Work or related field may be considered along with ample relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a residential setting is strongly preferred.
- Must have valid Driver's License and ability to maintain insurance throughout employment.
The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience in providing supervision in a flexible environment is necessary to be successful in this role. This is a fast-paced environment requiring creativity, flexibility, and the ability to lead staff and youth to achieve permanency goals.
