Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)
A Brief Overview
The ECG supervisor is responsible for supervising the ECG Laboratory on a day-to-day basis. Supervises personnel and assists in budget preparation and the forecasting of long range needs. Consults and coordinates with the Medical Director in developing new ECG technology and in expanding and/or creating present and new programs. Responsible for developing and implementing a quality control program in the research and application of ECG interpretation and arrhythmia monitoring, etc.
What you will do
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures in conjunction with the Department Manager, ensuring compliance with all applicable governmental and Hospital regulations.
- Develops and implements new technical programs such as quality control programs for technicians, computerized ECG interpretation, etc. Performs in-service training in these areas for ECG staff and other personnel.
- Interviews applicants, recommends on hiring, conducts orientation and training, counsels, and writes performance evaluations for lab personnel; initiates corrective actions with the approval of the Department Manager; schedules hours and assigns duties for staff.
- Performs the duties of ECG Technician II when necessary; maintains current knowledge of all ECG specialty areas, including trans-telephonic services, Holter scanning and analysis, stress testing, and areas under research and development.
- Provides input for budget preparations and for long-range planning for the ECG Lab, particularly in relation to procedural needs.
- Recommends on purchases; prepares supply and equipment requisitions for approval by the Department Manager; approves smaller purchases in absence of the Department Manager.
- Responsible for inventory control, requests for maintenance of equipment and facilities, and for related record-keeping. Supervises the preparation and submission of monthly activity reports, time card authorizations, special billing and other reports.
- Responsible for keeps out-patient rooms clean and tidy.
- Responsible for the day-to-day technical operations of the lab; coordinates various projects involving the lab; maintains contact with Medical Staff members and others in relation to patient services and technical activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to develop programs and lead process improvement projects.
- Ability to strategize, plan and implement change.
- Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
- Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader.
- Knowledge of basic principles of patient care and general hospital organization.
- Knowledge of cardiac, neurology and pulmonary terminology.
- Knowledge of filing practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes Knowledge of quality assurance methods and procedures as applicable.
- Knowledge of the technical and theoretical principles of ECG procedures.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $37.42 - $48.65 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
