Description of PositionSupervisor, ElectricianHiring Range: $53,913 - $69,981This position is a supervisory level technician who performs maintenance work as well as directs the work of other personnel. This person should have strong analytical ability to troubleshoot problems, recommend solutions and perform or direct work. The selected candidate will have responsibility for functionality of assigned trades/systems for the college district-wide.The following are examples of typical duties that may be assigned to positions in this job family.

May track a budget or portion of a budget, but does not have final authority.Coordinates and oversees daily operation of the department or unit, reporting to a mid-level manager or administrator.Performed work is semi-routine or diversified under established policies in the performance of the majority of duties.Assists manager in establishing policies and procedures for office operations.
Familiarizes personnel with procedures. Assists personnel to achieve and maintain standards.Makes decisions within the limits defined by policies and procedures set up by the department. Sometimes adopts or modifies methods and standards to meet a variation in controlling conditions.Leads work team/group.
Assigns and checks work. Performs the same or closely related work as those supervised. Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff.
Requests new or maintains existing equipment and supplies. Performs other related duties as required.Minimum Expectations & RequirementsSupervisor, Electrical* Ability to perform the duties of a supervisor including defining daily work for trades crew, keeping records of work performed and evaluating timecards* Must meet requirements for Tech III Electrician* Working knowledge of Acuity Lighting System* Working knowledge of Avigilon Door Access Controls* Must have a working knowledge of fire alarm systems, preferably Honeywell Notifier* Strong team player attitude and excellent work ethic* Willingness to be "on-call" in case of emergencies* Must possess a valid driver's license* Must understand OSHA safety regulations and continually reinforce safe work practices* Perform work or deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes via loading, unloading and operation of a YC vehicle* Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job dutiesPreferred Skills & Abilities* Ability to be flexible and work in an environment where emergencies might change priorities many times a day* Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in representing the Facilities Department to the college at large* An understanding of the necessity and the maintaining of accurate and timely records* Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment.Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
