Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Job Summary / Purpose

The Supervisor of the Cath Lab is accountable for the supervision and performance of the Cath Lab daily operations, patient throughput, personnel, inventory management and ensuring compliance with standards of care for the designated service line (coronary, peripheral and EP). Responsible for other duties delegated from the Director of the Cath Lab.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Manages day to day operations of the Cath Lab including patient throughput, collaboration with physicians and the Cath Lab patient schedule.
  2. Responsible for the hiring, evaluating, performing disciplinary action, and coaching of the staff in conjunction with the Director of the Cath Lab
  3. Oversees staff and “on call” schedule ensuring appropriate experience and skill mix for all shifts.
  4. Maintains responsibility for ensuring properly functioning equipment and adequate supplies.
  5. Identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates via occurrence reports or direct communication with Leadership Team.
  6. Participates in policy creation or revisions and staff compliance with the policies.
  7. Ensures quality control processes are completed per Lab and/or regulatory requirements.
  8. Collaborates with Director of the Cath Lab on budget, new capital equipment planning and achieving productivity standards.
  9. Serves as a role model to staff by participation in cases or post cath recovery of patients.
  10. Participation on accreditation teams or other hospital committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

BSN and 2 years RN Experience, or 4 years RN experience and BSN required within 3 years with charge nurse experience. 

Minimum of three (3) years of Cath Lab experience

Required Licensure and Certifications

Current Registered Nurse License in Kentucky (RN:KY)

AHA Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS-CPR) - 5 day grace period Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - 3 months grace period.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

* Must possess critical thinking skills

* Serve in a leadership role by effectively working with staff, 

    physicians, vendors, patients and families.

*Minimum of three (3) years of Cath Lab experience
