Summary:

The supervisor will work in a custodian role along with supervising a team that is focused on building upkeep. Thia person should have the ability to cover a large office space and a keen eye for detail and diligence.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in directing cleaning type operations in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to supervise cleaning services (including janitorial and floor care).

General Responsibilities:

The principal responsibility of the supervisor is to ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of the facility in accordance with the contract requirements; supervise staff and provide nightly reports of completed work.

• Monitor and supervise employees.
• Provide all relevant training to employees.
• Participate/facilitate regular safety training.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Supports custodial activities and will assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the building/facilities.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Employee supervision to include scheduling, training, coaching, and counseling.
• Recruitment activities may include interviewing, onboarding and training.
• Timekeeping functions to ensure hours worked are tracked and reported.
• Supervise detailed custodial functions including floor care. Perform standard janitorial duties including dusting, detailing, vacuuming, sanitizing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors, and cleaning restrooms, common areas, and windows when personnel are absent.
• Ensure employees clean all tabletops, fixtures, file cabinets, desks, dividers, partitions, elevator doors, entry doors, walls and surfaces to ensure that they are free from dust and dirt in accordance with the daily work schedules. Step in to perform such duties when personnel are absent.
• Ensure employees clean service, and police all restrooms, gyms, offices, lobby, hallways, conference rooms and manufacturing areas, stock all supply dispensers in restrooms and ensure that all shelves and surfaces are clean and dry in accordance with the daily work schedules.
• Ensure that all glass mirrors and interior and exterior doors are free from smudges, stains, discoloration, rust, mold, encrustation, excess moisture, or spots. Ensure that all designated areas are vacuumed, swept, and mopped on a regular schedule.
• Performing routine checks and inspection for cleaning area. Manage nightly summaries and inspection reports and complete customer work orders requested according to shift.

Additional Responsibilities:

Understand and be able to explain and enforce the employee handbook, the hazard communication program, bloodborne pathogen procedure and all safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; Push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Stands and moves within assigned work area, or building for 6 to 7 hours (excluding breaks and lunch)
• Some bending, stooping, and reaching as necessary to complete the work.
