Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the city of Norwalk.
The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital, Standards and Compliance Department is accepting applications for Supervising Registered Nurse - Risk Managementand Program Quality Assurance Coordinator for a permanent/fulltime position.
Under the direction of the Standards Compliance Director, the Supervising Registered Nurse - Risk Managementand Program Quality Assurance Coordinator will work in a dynamic department with ever-changing needs, critical to the mission of a State long-term psychiatric hospital. The incumbent will encounter a variety of novel circumstances when engaging with regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g. the California Department of Public Health and the Joint Commission) on behalf of DSH-Metropolitan.
Duties include, but are not limited to: manage and support the Standards Compliance Department; represent the Standards Compliance Department as a subject matter expert on various committees; work closely with the Standards Compliance Director in the development and implementation of tracking databases for Risk Management Committee, performance improvement data, analyzing aggregate hospital data, and preparation of complex documents for regulatory and accreditation agencies; assist the Standards Compliance Director in the growth and development of the department and its interface with the other State Hospitals.

Computer knowledge, writing ability, and verbal presentation skills are essential. The position requires excellent attendance, strong analytical skills, good communcation skills, and the ability to work effectively with others. Incumbents will be responsible for performing research, analyses, development, and implementation of data trending and tracking, and various complex technical and analytical assignments.
Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, ability to create and utilize database software, ability to problem-solve, and an interest in learning the intricacies of the various regulatory agencies with which the Department of State Hospitals interacts.
