Work Shifts 8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M Job Description Purpose: Under general supervision, conducts and supervises Environmental Services functions with considerable latitude for independent decision-making. Performs related duties as required.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Directs, supervises and administers the Environmental Services program to maintain South Brooklyn Health premises in a clean, orderly, safe, and environmentally sound manner. Establishes and oversees standards, work methods, and schedules with consideration of the operation, patients, visitors, staff, and regulatory standards. Inspects work of subordinates to ensure cleanliness standards efficiently maintained.

Contributes to and supports the performance improvement of Environmental Services with new cleaning methods, equipment and supply ideas and/or revisions. Is responsible for maintenance of Environmental Services standards of infection prevention and control. Establishes and maintains liaison with professional, administrative and support staff including union representatives.

Formulate plans for and directs training programs for subordinate employees. Assists in the preparation of annual employee evaluations and competency assessments. Counsels and interviews employees.

Documents and maintains records for communication, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. Utilizes the H+H Electronic Medical Records System EPIC for Environmental Services - Grand Central for Bed Cleaning and other cleaning requests and monitoring. Attends in-service and trainings for innovation, best practices, and compliance.

Start and close out overlapping shift for seamless 24-hour departmental housekeeping service. Distributes cleaning supplies, equipment and maintains satellite supply locations for efficiency. Dispatch and close out work assignments and work orders.

Attend collaborative rounds / meetings for area of coverage and report summary of findings and outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Six (6) months of experience as a Senior Housekeeper or as a lead or Supervising Housekeeper for a large organization, such as a hospital, hotel, office or residential building; and Successful completion of the NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory Training within three (3) months of appointment. Department Preferences Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles and processes for disinfecting and sanitizing in a healthcare setting.

Skilled in following strict cleanliness and infection control guidelines to ensure patients are in a clean and healthy environment. Ability to team manage housekeeping tasks to healthcare industry standards and regulations Ability to work in a public setting with a customer service focus on interpersonal interactions, communication and problem solving.
