General Summary of Job Duties:

Seeking an experienced Restaurant Line Cook to work in a high volume Cafe. Responsible for preparing food and all menu items with integrity and in accordance with set recipes and plating diagrams. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities:

• Completion of all daily menus and food products on all parts of the line/kitchen.
• Report any poor product or below quality items to the Sous Chef or above immediately upon noticing.
• Experience LINE COOKing in a Café with 3 meal period restaurant cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner at any time.
• Must be able to handle pressure of cooking to order for large amount of guest at once.
• Must be able to sand on your feet for hours at a time.
• Knowledge of taking temperature of steaks.
• Knowledge of cooking egg dishes to order.
• Act in accordance with all Silverton standard operating procedures.
• Proper food handling in accordance with Health Department
• Having all menu items on hand, or Food &Beverage approved substitutions and communication of these to entire Front of House team.
• Accuracy in all recipes used in outlet, whether produced there or not, and if applicable-proper plating in accordance with set standards.
• Daily taking and maintaining of your station and areas inventory.
• Guaranteeing quality product is on your station at all times.
• Report any engineering needs or equipment failures/malfunctions to the culinary team or outlet manager as soon as they are noticed.
• Develop guest loyalty through personalized customer attention (internal and external when possible).
• Performing other duties requested as assigned.

Requirements and skills:

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Restaurant Line Cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
• Valid Health Card
