Dates and times are dependent upon program assignment(s).
Note: Current employees cannot receive pay for any Summer School work until after their contract for their work days for the current school year have expired. Current employees with questions about their last work day should contact their HR Generalist for confirmation.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma and one (1) year of customer service experience, preferably in a school setting.
Nature of Position
The Summer School clinic and Wellness Assistant assigned to this position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to school nurses in the daily operation of the school clinic. The successful candidate(s) will communicate with school employees regarding health and information.
Examples of Duties
- Assist nurses with submitting confidential medical documents.
- Serves as back up to the nurse on duty when necessary.
- Conduct follow up telephone calls related to COVID exposure, in a timely manner.
- Verify contact information for reporting purposes.
- Assist with contact tracing; to include entering employee demographics on an excel spreadsheet.
- Collaborate with school nurses to ensure the confidential and orderly operation of the contact tracing process.
- Assist nurses with administering medication and performs basic first aid.
- Schedules appointments for students to speak with teachers and guidance counselors.
- Schedules conferences with parents.
- Performs a full range of beginner to intermediate summer payroll and clerical tasks to support school administration, teachers and general school operations throughout the summer.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
