The Position
Arrowhead seeks a full-time, entry-level undergrad/grad student that is interested in a career in Finance in the Pharmaceutical Industry. The internship will be designed to provide the student a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience within the Finance department at Arrowhead. The intern will work closely with the Director of FP&A and the broader Finance team to build key technical and leadership skills needed to succeed within Finance, and particularly the Pharmaceutical Industry. The intern will receive hands-on training and will be assigned goals and expectations. The intern will support various aspects of Finance but will also be assigned a primary project for the duration of the summer.
The 2024 Internship Program lasts from June 10 - August 16.
Responsibilities
- Support in developing Arrowhead's internal clinical trial cost model
- Understand requirements of a clinical trial budget by meeting with key stakeholders
- Use internal and external data to formulate a hypothesis on clinical trial cost patterns and accrual methodology
- Build a dynamic cost model to simulate monthly, quarterly and annual clinical trial costs
- Share and present progress updates and findings to core Finance team
- Provide ad-hoc support as needed
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled student at an Accredited University or College and majoring in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related area of study
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial and accounting principle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Eagerness to learn new concepts and techniques
- Ability to work onsite at the Pasadena location 5x a week
The hourly pay rate for this role is $22 per hour.
