General Description:
The Electrical Engineering Intern position involves assisting the Electrical Engineers in performing both project related tasks as well as discipline related work. This position demands resourcefulness, tenacity, flexibility, strong communication skills, collaboration across multiple business functions within the organization and most importantly a passion for being a part of our clean energy future. Our goal is for this candidate to gain valuable skills that form the foundation for a career in bringing renewable energy projects from concept to operation.
This is a paid 10-week, full-time internship that will start on or around June 5, 2023, with an end date of August 15, 2023.
Main Accountabilities:
- Assist with project documentation
- Assist in standard specification development and update
- Assist in Engineering Design Guideline development and update
- Assist with Collection System Layout preparation - Circuit Impedance Calculation, Verification of cable ampacity derating, Circuit Length Optimization, etc.
- Attend Site Engineering Meetings
- Assist with preliminary engineering and studies
- Create and update single line diagrams using AutoCAD
- Additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of undergraduate work towards a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Power, Solar, or Wind electives
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD, and electrical modeling software is needed. HV Substation experience is a plus.

- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment

- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
