About Our Internship Program
Our interns provide valuable support to our teams as we work to expand access to the most diverse antibody repertoires and cutting-edge screening technologies.
Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment and impactful work to our interns as well as learning and development opportunities. This is a 10-week program which offers an internship project and a platform for our interns to share their work with the organization. Our interns will be encouraged to drive their projects and network within the organization, but they will also have a dedicated Intern Manager and Intern Advocate to offer guidance and support throughout the program.
About This Role
We’re seeking a Summer Intern, Bioinformatics who will be responsible for comprehensive meta-analyses and establishment of benchmarks of large-scale NGS data. The individual will work in our Computational Immunology team, which focuses on development and application of cutting-edge bioinformatics methods, mathematical models, and statistical techniques for antibody discovery and design. This person will collaborate with the Antibody Discovery and Protein Sciences groups. The ideal candidate has experience in Python and data analysis.
This role reports to the Director, Computational Immunology.
Please note: Our program will begin mid-June and end mid-late August. This is an onsite position based out of our Emeryville headquarters, and we do not offer relocation for this opportunity. This is a full-time position, and the working hours are 8am-5pm (PT).
What You’ll Do
Apply statistical methods and leverage machine learning to analyze large datasets.
Create detailed documentation to ensure clarity, transparency, and reproducibility.
Contribute as a team member by bringing your unique perspectives and qualities.
Further develop your technical and non-technical skills.
Present your work at the annual Internship Showcase.
What You Bring
Currently pursuing a BSc (3rd year+) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Seaborn, Plotly, Matplotlib, Bio).
Experience in Python standard data science packages.
Experience in statistical analysis.
Experience in construction of interactive dashboards with Plotly & Dash.
Ability to work both independently and deliver responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment.
Nice To Have
Foundational understanding of immunology.
Experience in implementation of bioinformatics tools pipelines associated with BCR repertoire sequencing (IgBlast, CompAIRR, Immcantation).
The base compensation range for this position is $20-$35 per hour. The range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
