Job Summary
The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for the position of Program Coordinatorfor the 2024 Summer Food Service Program. This position provides overall management of the program, selects sites, submits applications, corresponds with administering agency, coordinates with other agencies, conducts outreach efforts, as well as hires, trains, and supervises staff. The successful applicant will be required to attend training classes, conferences, and other meetings as deemed necessary by the position.
The Summer Food Service Program is administered by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) and is funded through a combination of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Liberty County. The goal is to help ensure children who have limited access to food at home get the nutritious meals they need for optimal growth, development, and overall well-being when school is out for the summer.
Major Job Duties
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Hire, train, assign, direct, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel.
- Coordinate program activities with state agencies.
- Manage the negotiation of contracts and agreements for meal purchases.
- Perform pre-operational inspections of potential program sites and selected sites.
- Maintain employee attendance records; review and submit timesheets.
- Review and submit reimbursement vouchers.
- Ensure program compliance with all Federal and State laws.
- Performance of other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- More than three (3) years of related experience required.
- Must possess a valid Georgia Class C driver's license and be insurable through the County's insurance carrier.
- Must show proof of residency in Liberty County, Georgia.
Required Skills
- Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Skilled in the accurate and timely completion of forms and reports.
- Possess effective communication skills both oral and written with local, state, and federal agency personnel and the general public.
Physical Demands
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk while intermittently standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
- The employee frequently lifts light objects and occasionally lifts heavy objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in inclement weather.
Salary & Benefits
- This is a part-time, work-from home position with an hourly wage of $19.69 (Grade 13).
- A mobile phone and laptop will be provided by Liberty County for work-related duties. A stable home internet connection is required.
- This position involves 20% travel. Mileage will be reimbursed at $0.67/mile for business travel per the 2024 GSA rate.
