Summer Camp Instructors
Our camps are hands-on, innovative, educational, and fun learning experiences for children ages 3-14. We utilize the talents of our teaching staff, organizations in our community, and the unique resources of the Washington Pavilion to create exceptional opportunities for learning and exploring for students.
Camp Schedule
Camps start June 3 and run through August 8, 2024
Our Summer Camps are divided into the following age categories: 3-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-14. Camps for ages 3 – 11 are half days and run Monday – Thursday, with a morning session from 8:30 am – 12 pm and an afternoon session from 1 – 4:30 pm. Instructors must commit to teaching all 4 days of the camp.
Camps for ages 12-14 are one-day, all-day camps, from 8:30 am – 4:30, with an hour break for lunch.
Attending an orientation session prior to June 3 is required.
What sort of time commitment is involved?
In most cases, instructors will only be scheduled for one camp each week. This is to encourage a healthy work-life balance and flexible summer schedule.
Each day, instructors will be scheduled one hour prior to the start of camp and 30 minutes after students are checked out. For example, for a morning camp, instructors should arrive by 7:30 am and should leave by 12:30 pm
Compensation: $18.00/hour.
Duties:
- Develop lesson plan and supply list in close collaboration with the STEAM Education Program Coordinator.
- Supervise student check-in and check-out.
- Be organized and well prepared each day.
- Maintain clean and organized classroom.
- Lead and supervise students at all times, inside and outside the Washington Pavilion.
- Foster a welcoming and safe environment for students to be creative and explore.
