Bridgewater YMCA Day Camp - 10 week programs that run from Monday, June 24th through Friday, August 30th - offers an exciting variety of camp options to please every kind of camper at every age! With both traditional multi-activity and specialty camp options-there are over a dozen traditional, arts, archery, and STEM options for children entering Kindergarten through 10th grade.
Bridgewater YMCA Day Camp is seeking seasonal Summer Camp Counselors to provide energetic camp spirit and leadership throughout a fun summer experience! This role is responsible for executing our exciting camp curriculum, actively engaging and interacting with children of various backgrounds and abilities, responding to safety and behavioral needs, and more.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Camp Counselors' primary responsibility is to execute a safe and fun summer experience for the children within their assigned group. Working under the direction of the Camp Leadership Team, in this role, it is imperative to be able to make camp the best experience a child could ever dream of and will look back and remember for years to come. Camp Counselors are role models for leadership, demonstrating our core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, and being fun, exciting individuals with good spirit.
Specific responsibilities will include:

1. Working collaboratively with other counselors to lead a group of 15-30 children.
2. Working with other counselors to develop and execute fun and educational activities throughout the week.
3. Encouraging campers to achieve goals in personal development like being a leader, team player, speaking in front of peers, etc.
4. Swimming daily with campers to have fun, assist in daily swim lessons, and ensure safety for all.
5. Showing camp spirit every day by participating in camp traditions, singing camp songs, cheering on campers and staff, playing camp wide games, and more.
6. Maintaining safety at all times by knowing every camper by name, knowing who you are responsible for at all times, maintaining proper ratios, carrying first aid supplies at all times, being responsive on a walkie-talkie system, etc.
7. Participating in all camp activities. Must be able and willing to be active, run around, get messy, and want to make the experience each day one to remember.

HOURS:
*This role is a seasonal full time (40hrs per week) role. The ability to be flexible based on camp needs is required.*
Pre-Camp Trainings: TBD - held throughout June
Camp Assignment: June 24th - August 30th (must be able to work at minimum 8 out of 10 weeks)
Typical Weekly Schedules can be: Monday-Friday 7:15am-3:15pm / 8:45am-4:45pm / 10:00am-6:30pm
