The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights and hands-on experience while providing crucial support to our General Accounting team in the areas of accounting and financial reporting. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while supporting RWE Clean Energy's financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the creation of monthly closing journal entries
- Preparing account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Running month-end financial reports to support the decision-making process
- Contributing to the successful migration to the SAP platform
- Assisting with audit requests and maintaining compliance with financial regulations
- Participating in various ad-hoc accounting assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- Enrolled as an accredited university pursuing a degree in an accounting program, with a preference for student in their junior year
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher to demonstrate your commitment to academic excellence
- Possess a working knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Be detail-oriented, ensuring precision in financial tasks
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to solve complex accounting challenges
- Exhibit a high energy level and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
This is a full-time 12-week summer internship starting at the end of May in our Valhalla, NY office.
Pay range: The hourly range for this position in New York is $25 per hour - $30 per hour. The listed hourly range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
