We are seeking a Summer 2024Risk Intern for our Risk Control Property and Multiline Teams located in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO or Los Angeles, CA.
The Internship Program is a 10-week development initiative designed to provide professional growth with potential long-term opportunity for successful individuals interested in the Insurance/Reinsurance industry.
Risk Interns will learn to gain proficiency in identifying property hazards through site visits, desk-top reviews, and recommending solutions. Responsibilities Include:
What can I expect as an Intern?
On-the-job Learning
Insurance requires a high degree of experience and expertise - something you can't learn in the classroom. Sompo International interns are immersed in the day-to-day activities of their team, having responsibilities including property risk analysis, containing estimating probable loss expectancies. Risk Control Interns will also learn the basics in Construction types, fire divisions, and diverse occupancies, Risk Control Reporting, active and passive fire protection, automatic sprinkler system hydraulics, and special hazards identification.
Activities, Learning and Development
Throughout the program, Interns will have the opportunity to hear from executive leaders, participate in structured, engaging leadership learnings, participate in networking events and activities with peers, members of our Executive team and outside brokerage firms, and be part of a project to present to their manager and mentor.
Qualifications
Salary Range: __$20/hr-$22/hr_______Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.3
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Local to the desired office location or able to secure housing and transportation in the area
- Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without restriction
