Job Description
We are seeking qualified and experienced individuals to join our team as Contracted Instructors for 60-minute individual intervention sessions. This position is a 1099 contracted role with a focus on providing specialized instruction in one of the following areas: Wilson Reading System®, SPELL-Links™, written expression & AT, or Chris Woodin Math Strategies®. The contract period is from June to August 2024. By joining our team, you can help us set out to prove that not only can every child learn to read, but every child should have access to literacy intervention no matter their age, geographic location, or socioeconomic status.
Role & Responsibilities
Dates: Teaching Dates: June 1st - August 31st, 2024
Time: Instructors will set their schedule with a minimum of 15 hours of availability per week*
Location: Sessions will be hosted via Zoom, KoalaGo, or Google Meets
*Redwood does not guarantee a minimum number of teaching hours per week. Hours will be dependent upon summer enrollment and the breadth of availability of the instructor.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct 60-minute individual intervention sessions based on the chosen content area (Wilson Reading System®, SPELL-Links™, written expression & AT [using curriculum], or Chris Woodin Math Strategies®).
- Tailor instruction to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Demonstrate expertise and competency in the selected content area through effective teaching strategies and knowledge application.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other stakeholders to assess progress and adjust instructional methods as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress throughout the intervention period.
- Stay informed about developments and best practices in the chosen content area to enhance instructional effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise and competency in the chosen content area (Wilson Reading System®, SPELL-Links™, written expression & AT, or Chris Woodin Math Strategies®).
- Previous experience in individualized instruction or intervention settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Flexibility in scheduling, as hours will be determined by the candidate.
