Job Description

The Robert Bosch Corporation realizes the mutual benefit of developing Mechanical or Electrical Engineering students over several work terms. Therefore, we are seeking to hire students who wish to work at the Florence manufacturing facility. At the Florence, KY facility, Bosch designs and produces automotive steering components and systems sold to vehicle OEMs throughout North America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively under the guidance of experienced Controls Engineers for the following.

  • Define standards in technical editing and further develop them in the team.
  • Compiling, revising, and optimizing technical machine documentation, such as operating manuals, software manuals, work instructions, and installation and service manuals, under your own responsibility and in compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Develop detailed documentation for the transition of Bosch standards products to another department
  • User-oriented textual description and graphic representation of complex technical processes and interrelationships.
  • Close cooperation and information gathering with colleagues from corresponding specialist departments.
  • Project planning of the electrotechnical components in accordance with the requirements and functional specifications
  • Planning of the electronic components to be installed (drives, visions, pressure units, frequency converters, etc.)
  • Preparation of all necessary assembly, wiring, and other manufacturing documents for assembly
  • Develop and document the electrical design of control panels for projects
  • Develop and implement "Human Machine Interface" (HMI), machine control (PLC), robot, vision software
  • Participate in commissioning automated prototype systems
  • Collaborate with all Controls team members to ensure all aspects of project goals are achieved
  • Create 3D factory simulation for learning automation technologies and designing and simulation program for electro-pneumatics.
  • Define a concept for remote support and smart work on Controls support projects

Qualifications

 Education and/or Experience:

  • Candidate must be currently pursuing for B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Must be a quick learner, able to independently research new concepts and apply them without guidance
  • Basic or moderate knowledge of programming languages such as C, PLC
  • Problem Solving
    • Strong analytical and intellectual skills
    • Competent use of systematic problem-solving tools
  • Communication Skills
    • Effectively communicate with different levels of associates and cultures
    • Ability to work with workshop personnel
    • Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Meet deadlines on assigned tasks, utilize project timeline tools, effectively communicate goals & results
