Job Title: Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E.) Field Manager/Project Manager
Summary/Objective:
GeoPoint Surveying, Inc. is a land surveying firm with multiple locations, specializing in land development, remote sensing, energy, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and Subsurface Utility Engineering.
The S.U.E. Field Manager plans, organizes, trains staff, and maintains the S.U.E. equipment along with supervising S.U.E. team members.
Essential Job Functions:
- Initiate and maintain existing / new contacts with key personnel within Utility organizations and companies. This includes coordinating with municipalities, private entities, and other clients to obtain proper certifications/permits for Utilities together with maintaining/developing client relationships
- Administer S.U.E. related contracts and manage projects, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments
- Coordinate Schedules and assign work to meet project completion dates
- Plan and develop SUE projects utilizing the expertise necessary to complete unique and challenging projects. This requires the use of current and new technologies to overcome the challenges of projects requiring extraordinary detail. This includes the exploration of the subject area, investigate, and develop novel concepts and approaches
- Develop and monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and quality control for SUE projects from the proposal stage through final deliverables
- Plan S.U.E. crew schedules and coordinate with other departments to ensure the proper allocation of personnel and resources to meet project deadlines
- Responsible for the consistent monitoring and safety coordination of all S.U.E. efforts
- Assist and perform necessary fieldwork as needed to complete projects including Level B and Level A S.U.E.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in S.U.E. with at least 5 years of experience managing S.U.E. crews
- Ability to designate all utilities using surface geophysical equipment, including RF Pipe and Cable Locators, Ground Penetrating Radar, and electromagnetic induction devices
- Experience operating and maintaining a vacuum excavation truck.
- Must be able to generate revenue through existing client base and new business development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to prioritize work with tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills that allow you to effectively and professionally interact with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and the public
- Excellent financial management skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines and ability to adjust to project priorities and demands of multiple clients
- Must be able to work flexible hours (travel will be required)
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy

Work Environment:
- Desk/Workstation may be located in a confined area
- Moderate noise indoors/outdoors (i.e., computers, phones, printers, and traffic)
- Able to work overtime and some weekends
- Able to work well in a team environment as well as being self-motivated and driven
Travel:
- Some travel may be required
