POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from schools and in various other district activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs pre and post trip safety inspections.
  • Drives specified routes and transports students, discharges students at authorized stops only.
  • Instructs passengers on safety procedures and fire drills.
  • Maintains order and discipline on the bus, reports major disciplinary problems to the director of transportation.
  • Drives for field trips, game runs this includes mountain trips.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for supervising passenger conduct in district vehicles.
BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Bilingual (preferred)
CDL bus driving experience required
Must be 21 years of age
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Driver's License.
Must have current CDL Class B with a P and S endorsement.
Current DOT physical required.
Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical and a drug & alcohol test prior to employment.
Current First Aid and CPR (or obtained within the first ninety days of employment).

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: some lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires constant sitting, walking, stooping, climbing and standing. This job is performed in generally a clean and healthy environment. The person in this position frequently communicates and must be able to talk, hear and see.

Mostly clean and comfortable.
May encounter noise, odors or body fluids

SALARY:
Starting hourly rate will be $23.74 - $26.85 per hour based upon prior related experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
New hires or rehires will be responsible for the $49.50 fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
