Substitute Assistant Teacher

Catapult Learning is in search of a full-time substitute to serve as an Instructional Aide to join our team.

Aides work with teachers to deliver instruction and support to support students in grades K-8. This role is at a nonpublic elementary school in Portsmouth, VA. 

Responsibilities 

·       Understand and acclimate to the various teachers’ routines in order to provide classroom support. 

·       Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skill initially introduced by the teacher. 

·       Assist with maintaining records of students’ daily progress in accordance with school’s management system and Catapult's attendance system.

·       Support and document students’ growth and progress towards academic goals. 

·       Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate locations within the school. 

·       Assist in maintaining a clean and safe academic learning environment for the student. 

·       Assist other staff with students when needed, when applicable. 

·       Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications 

·       High School Diploma required. 

·       College experience preferred.

·       Experience working with students.
