Salaryb19 is working with an established power delivery company to find a Substation Designer that comes from an electric utility background
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years utility Substation Physical design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel & Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-10 years physical substation design experience
- AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SDS proficiency
- Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications.
- Ability to create & modify engineer-provided markups to high standards of detail
- Substation lightning stroke shielding plan and grounding plan experience
- Ability to coordinate and interact with P&C and civil teams
- Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project.
