Job Description
Full-time Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) in an outpatient Substance Use disorder treatment program. The counselor will work from early morning to early afternoon (5 AM-1 PM). The counselor must be well-versed in all core functions. Counselors are supported by a full team, including an LCSW director, a clinical supervisor, a psychiatrist, a nurse, and other therapists/counselors.
Responsibilities
The position involves all aspects of the core counseling functions, including intakes, assessments, treatment planning, and individual and group counseling regarding all issues that impact Substance Use disorders. Counselors will also engage in discharge planning. Counselors are given latitude to use the evidence-based approaches they feel would work best with a given client/patient.
Qualifications
The counselor must have a State of Utah certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor. Applicants may also have a master’s level license that allows them to provide therapy under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker, such as an ACMHC, CMHC, CSW, MFT, or LCSW.
