Wedge Recovery Centers is seeking fulltime Substance Use Counselors with the following minimum education and documented clinical experience providing Substance Use counseling:
Associates degree and 2 years; Bachelors degree and 1 year; Masters degree and 0-6 months. CAADC is a plus, but not required initially. Counselors will be expected to work towards certification. Please see below for more detail about the position, qualifications, duties, and the organization.

SUMMARY
This is a direct-care clinically-oriented position within the agency, and is primarily focused on the provision of drug and alcohol counseling/therapy to clients of the Wedge. An employee in this classification is responsible for providing a wide range of clinical and clerical duties including, but not necessarily limited to: group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, educational lectures, development of individualized treatment plans, documentation of DAP notes, group notes, case consults, treatment plan updates, and other related documentation necessary for the appropriate upkeep of a clinical client record that is in full compliance with all state regulations. Employees in this classification will be under the direct supervision of either the Clinical Director and/or Site Director. In short, contact with clients, their families, representatives of private and public welfare and social services agencies, and representatives of professional organizations (i.e. managed care companies, physicians, probation officers, judges, etc.) is a significant aspect of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. A master’s degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol
OR
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and one (1) year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
OR
An associate’s degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and two (2) years of clinical experience (a minimum of 3,640 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
OR
Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide certification body which is a member of a national certification body or certification by another state government’s substance abuse counseling certification board.
OR
Current licensure in Pennsylvania as a physician.
OR
Current licensure in Pennsylvania as a registered nurse and a degree from an accredited school of nursing and one year of counseling experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human services agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol
2. Demonstrated knowledge of working within a managed care
3. Working knowledge of the DSM, with demonstrated ability to recognize the fundamental criteria sets for Substance Abuse and Dependence as stated in the
4. Knowledge of counseling
5. A thorough knowledge and understanding of substance abuse recovery and treatment
6. Prior training and demonstrated skills in the evaluation, diagnosis and referral of individuals with Substance Use Disorders.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
