Special Education Teacher
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing the classroom on a daily basis. This position is also responsible for designing the class curriculum for youth, monitoring youth's progress, participating in IEP meetings and working with the teaching aides.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced substitute Special Education Teacher. This may lead to a permanent full-time position.
**Please note-A valid substitute teaching credential is required**
Shifts Available
Full Time - Union Hourly; Mon-Fri/8am-5pm
What You Bring To The Table (Key Qualifications -see Job Description for more details)
- Valid California Learning Handicapped or Severely Handicapped Teaching Credential preferred.
- Valid California driver's license and good driving record required.
- Experience with developmentally and/or severely emotionally disabled children preferred.
Credential Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college/university required.
- Must have passed California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) OR hold a BA degree in Liberal Arts.
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential, mild moderate or moderate severe OR Preliminary Level 1 Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- The candidate must have the exact credential, Level 1 or Clear.
- Be enrolled in an Internship Education Specialist Instruction Program and hold an Internship Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- Have an Emergency Substitute Permit, Substitute Permit, or other current teaching credential. This criteria is ONLY applicable if working in a Substitute Teacher capacity for 20 days or less.
